Town of Akan Regular Board Meeting
February 10, 2011 7:00 p.m.
Minutes
Call to Order: by Howard Oates at 7:00 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance: led by Ken Leifhiet
Roll Call Present: Chairman Howard Oates, Treasurer Jan Harris, Supervisor Mark Storms, Supervisor Parker Weum, Clerk Marie Leifheit.
Verify Posting: by Howard Oates
Minutes:
Caucus: Mark Storms made the motion to approve, Parker Weum seconded the motion; all approved.
Regular January Meeting: Mark Storms made the motion to approve, Parker Weum seconded the motion; all approved.
Special Board Meeting to Appoint Interim Clerk: Mark Storms made the motion to approve, Parker Weum seconded the motion; all approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Parker Weum made the motion to approve; Mark Storms seconded the motion; all approved.
Present and Approve Bills for Payment: Mark Storms made the motion to approve, Parker Weum seconded the motion; all approved.
Public Comments
New Business:
Contract Payroll: Ken Leifheit contacted I&R Accounting Associates in RC about doing town payroll. Board decided to table issue until later date.
Clerk’s Notes: Marie Leifheit stated she is glad to be back.
- There will be a primary election on February 15, 2011 for Supreme Court Judges.
- There will be a Fire Department meeting in RC. On 2/14/11 at 8:00 p.m.
Old Business: None
Roads:
- Parker Weum suggested the patrolmen don’t drive with chains on the blacktop roads to extend the life of the chains.
- Parker Weum wondered aloud how much it costs to maintain the town roads. Reply forth with coming, but it was noted that the town receives $.38/foot.
Harbor Commissioner:
No report at this time.
