Minutes of Regular Akan Town Board Meeting
5:45 P.M. Thursday January 14, 2010
Chairman Oates called the meeting to order.
Roll Call: Sup. Weum; Sup. Storms; Chair. Oates; Treas. Harris; and Clerk Queen Absent
Motion to verify meeting posting & approve agenda by Sup. Storms; 2nd by Sup. Weum, motion carried.
Chair Oates asked the board to approve minutes the Regular Board meeting of Dec. 3, 2009 as presented to the board, motion to approve by Sup. Storms, 2nd by Sup. Weum. Motion carried.
Treasurers Report presented Treas. Harris Motion to accept by Sup. Storms, 2nd Sup. Weum. motion carried
Expenses for December presented by Chairman Oates, motion to approve by Sup. Storms 2nd by Sup. Weum, motion carried.
Public Comments:
Mrs. Rott questioned the tax list that is included in our tax bill. Jan Harris said it was requested by the County Treasurer, practice will continue.
Discussion on looking into a pickup truck.
New Business:
Mr. Weum brought up the typo on the minutes of Dec. third; Chair Oates will have it corrected.
Appointment of 2010-2011 election board by Chair Oates
Old Business:
Mileage rate for board discussed. Motion to cancel further discussion on the issue by Sup. Weum 2nd by Sup. Storms. Motion carried.
Roads:
Complaints are unreasonable during ice storms. Discussion on Hill Rd. resident.
Let the record show we are doing a good job.
Resolution to pay patrolman within 5 working days of the first of the month.
Motion by Sup. Storms to adopt resolution, 2nd by Sup. Weum Motion carried.
Recycling: comments that attendant is good.
Motion by Sup. Storms to go into closed session to discuss employee compensation 2nd by Sup. Weum. Motion carried
Motion to return to open session by Mark Storms, 2nd by Sup. Weum Motion carried.
Motion to adjourn by Sup. Storms, 2nd by Sup. Weum, Meeting adjourned
